Announcing: Smithsonian's Museum on Main Street (MoMS) exhibit: Crossroads: “Change in Rural America” a Colorado Humanities tour, is coming to Ignacio! We invite you to participate in the Smithsonian FREE and interactive exhibit for all ages! Come reflect on Ignacio's history while finding out how you connect to your community with events and programs designed to complement the Smithsonian exhibition.

On Saturday, April 27th at 1 pm, the author of Bears Ears: Landscape of Refuge and Resistance, Dr. Andrew Gulliford will be expanding on his research to look at case studies of historic sites and conservation across the American West. Come along for the fun and learn about sites you’ve never heard of and stories from your public lands! There is no charge for this event which will be in-person only in the classroom at the Animas Museum. Seating is first come, first served.

Bear Spray Demonstration at Manna - The Durango Soup Kitchen DESCRIPTION: There will be a bear spray demonstration at the Manna pavilion led by Bryan Peterson from BearSmart Durango. The City of Durango Park Rangers and Colorado Parks and Wildlife will also have people present, along with informational materials about bear spray, bear safety, and camping safety information and tips! We will have 12 training cans for anyone who wants to get experience in the steps for using bear spray. DATE AND TIME: May 2nd 2024 at 11am - 12pm COST: Free event, open to all.
