Human Powered Potential "Meet & Greet Event Greet Even" at 11th Street Station Join us on Friday, May 3rd from 4-9 pm at 11th Street Station for the "Human Powered Potential Meet & Greet Event” where you can interact with the incredible individuals who are rowing 2,800 miles from California to Hawaii to raise money and awareness for the cure and treatment of Parkinson’s Disease, through the Michael J. Fox Foundation. We invite Durango and La Plata County to meet the team of four men, who in June of 2024 will set out to complete the World’s Toughest Row, an ocean rowing challenge from Monterey, CA to Kauai, HI. This event is a unique opportunity to engage with the adventurers whose goal is to explore and expand their capacity for endurance — mental, physical and spiritual — while engaging in endeavors intended to test their limits. The event will feature a question and answer session with the team, opportunities for photos, food, drinks and more. All four members of Team Human Powered Potential, Brendan Cusick, Patrick Morrissey, Scott Forman and Peter Durso, will be in attendance at 11th Street Station speaking about this incredible self-supported mission where they row 24 hours a day – in intervals of two hours, for approximately 30-40 days. Team Human Powered Potential's goal is to raise $28M for the Michael J. Fox Foundation, in honor of the 2,800 miles they will cover. Thanks to an anonymous donor, all funds raised will be matched three to one. “11th Street Station is proud to host this event because Parkinson’s Disease is an issue that is near & dear to our hearts,” said General Manager Carmen Drulis. “We hope the community can come together to celebrate this incredible endeavor by Team Human Powered Potential.” Friday's Meet & Greet event at 11th Street Station is the kick-off for a weekend focused on Rowing To Beat Parkinson’s featuring the Boat Race Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 4th at Dalton's Ranch. The Boat Race Golf Tournament is a "scramble" format featuring teams of four with a 9 am shotgun start. This very special golf event is in support of Team Human Powered Potential's row across the Pacific, part of the World's Toughest Row race, to raise money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation. 100% of the funds raised goes towards Parkinson's research.
