The 15th Annual Southwest Early Childhood Conference is taking place at Fort Lewis College on September 26th 2026 from 8 AM- 5 pm. This annual event brings together early childhood education professionals from across the southwest region. This year's theme "Where Joy and Laughter Inspire Learning" will offer 6.5 hours of professional development for $65 per participant. Walk in Durango

Registration for the Southwest Colorado Walk to End Alzheimer’s opens at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Rotary Park, 1565 E. 2^nd Ave., Durango. Opening ceremonies begin at 10 a.m.

The Durango Arts Center presents a screening of National Lampoon’s Vacation at 7 pm,  Saturday, September 26, 2026, in the air-conditioned theater.The film is  part of Colorado’s 150th Film Festival. Admission is free with a suggested $10 dollars online at www.durangoarts.org or at the door.  A full bar and concession stand will be open. The movie stars Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo, Christie Brinkley and more and was partially filmed in Durango in 1982.
