Durango Nordic Running Biathlon. 7/18/2026. 8am-12:30pm. $10 kids & $20 adults. Running biathlon is sport for those who thrive on challenge. It combines two completely different disciplines: the heart-pounding exertion of running and the Zen-like focus of precision shooting. Durango Nordic’s running biathlon will take place on our trails at the Durango Nordic Center, and all shooting will be done with Durango Nordic’s laser biathlon rifle systems. There is no ammunition in laser rifles; however, participants will be taught rifle safety as a fundamental skill for this sport. This event will be a pursuit style race of 1 lap with 3 shooting stages, of 5 shots each, along the route. Each missed shot will result in a time penalty (No penalty laps in this race). The lap length will be 3-5km depending on age group. The person with the fastest time, after adding in penalty shot times, wins the race. Participants will start in a random order, separated by 30 seconds for each racer. Website: durangonordic.org/events. Contact: info@durangonordic.org.
