Janet Kenna

Drawn to non-traditional patterns that display glass color and intensity, especially birds and water scenes, Janet Kenna is a stained glass artist in Durango CO. After years of working with fabrics to quilt together colors and patterns, she discovered traditional tiffany-style stained glass and fell in love. Janet has participated in gallery exhibits, arts and gift shows, donated to local non-profit auctions, is working on private commissions and sales, and has items for sale in downtown Durango in her studio in the Smiley Building, and at the newly opened Raven House Gallery on Grand Avenue in Mancos.

Story of Van door bar: from a ‘69 VW van, found this door at the Animas High School moving sale (as they were moving to new digs on FLC campus). Collaborating with Thomas Joyner and his high school welding class, the kids took on the task of raising it up, creating legs for it and a bar surface. I made the groovy ‘69 inspired stained glass to go in the original window space. Bar can be indoor or outdoor, preferably in a covered space.
